| Cancellation and Refund Policy |
|
Students have the right to withdraw from the program of instruction at any time. If students send Angeles College of Nursing a signed Notice of Cancellation postmarked NO LATER THAN the fifth business day following the first day of class (or delivered to the school before close of business), a full refund will be given. ACN's tuition refund policies are set in accordance with California's laws and regulations. Tuition refund policies generally apply for students who are withdrawn from a course.
REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICIALLY WITHDRAWING FROM ACN
Any student who finds it necessary to interrupt his or her attendance by withdrawing from ACN can complete the official withdrawal process by contacting the registrar. The Official Withdrawal form will assist ACN in timely withdrawal processing so that no additional services are rendered or charges incurred. The date the student submits the Official Withdrawal form is the date the student is officially withdrawn from ACN administratively; the date of the student's final attendance in class is considered the date of academic withdrawal and the student will receive a refund based upon that date of withdrawal.
If you send or deliver in writing a letter expressing your intent to withdraw from the program of instruction (Letter of Withdrawal) AFTER the fifth business day following the first day of class, the following refund policy applies. As described in the registration form, fees to the school fall under one of three categories: registration fee, equipment fee and tuition. The tuition divided by the total number of hours is the hourly charge for instruction. The school will pay a refund in the amount of the hourly charge for instruction multiplied by the total hours of instructions left at the time of the submission of the letter of withdrawal. For example, if a student paid $2,000 per tuition for 100 hours of class and submits a letter of intent to withdraw after 25 hours of class, $1500 will be given in refund. The registration and equipment fees, as stated in the registration form, will not be refunded when the intent to withdraw is given after the fifth business day following the first day of class. A business day is defined as any day except Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. The refund will be given within 30 business days after the submission of the Notice of Cancellation or the Letter of Withdrawal.
If the student has equipment belonging to the school, it must be returned in good condition within 30 calendar days, before receiving the refund. Failure to do so will result in fair market value of the equipment to be deducted from the refund.
If any portion of the tuition was paid from the proceeds of a loan, the refund shall be sent to the lender or, to the state or federal agency that guaranteed or reinsured the loan. Any amount of the refund in excess of the unpaid balance of the loan shall first be used to repay any student financial aid program from which the student received benefits, in proportion to the amount of the benefits received, and any remaining amount shall be returned to the student.
Within 10 days of the day on which the refund is made, ACN shall notify the student in writing of the date on which the refund was made, the amount of the refund, the method of calculating the refund, and the name and address of the entity to which the refund was sent. Refunds will be made within 30 days of the determined date of withdrawal.
