Angeles College of Nursing is a non-traditional term institution and does not operate according to a conventional academic calendar. New student classes typically begin four times per year; however, start dates are varied, unlike a traditional four-term school year.
Typically, VN courses meet for either 42 or 60 weeks, depending on whether the student is full time or part time, the ESL program meets for 72 weeks, and other courses meet for between 2 and 40 weeks, depending on the program (see specific program descriptions for specific week details). This diverse and often intensive calendar allows students to achieve their educational goals in a more time-efficient manner. ACN's low student/faculty ratio and class size that averages fewer than 20 students per class facilitate active learning and collaboration. The VN and ESL program vacations include one week following Term I, one week following Term II, one week between Christmas and New Year's Eve, and the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. All other programs include the Christmas and Thanksgiving vacations as well as national holidays. No program shorter than 10 weeks will be scheduled during a time when the Christmas vacation will interrupt the schedule of classes.
ACN OBSERVES THE FOLLOWING NATIONAL HOLIDAYS:
New Year's Day
President's Day
Memorial Day,
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
ACN reserves the right to modify this schedule with reasonable advance notice to students.
